Jesus - The Light of Hope Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hello, whoever is reading this!

You are probably here because I propped your Xanga. I really hope you will read through this, because the two choices above are huge.

It’s pretty obvious which one is the better choice of the two. But you might be thinking to yourself, “I don’t believe in Christianity.” Please don’t let that allow you to ignore these two choices. When you die, you won’t be able to go back.

It’s an undisputed fact that Jesus Christ lived on the earth about 2000 years ago. He claimed to be the only way to heaven, and that anyone who rejects him will go to hell.

Now I know there is a huge debate going on regarding whether Christianity is real. Obviously, I can’t go into all the arguments here, but I honestly believe the Christian view of the world is more real than any other view.

So I simply ask that you make a decision regarding Jesus’ offer—1 or 2.

If you chose #1 (I sincerely hope you did…), you might be wondering just what this “ultimate satisfaction” is. The idea is that through Jesus, your life can become perfect in every way that matters. It doesn’t mean that life is going to become easy, but it means that God himself will enter into a personal relationship with you, and will satisfy all the deepest desires of your heart. It means that you can be absolutely certain that something amazing (heaven) awaits you after you die.

Eternal life and ultimate satisfaction. Here’s how you get them: it’s called the gospel, or the good news.

Here’s the gospel-

1)    We have all sinned. For example, we have all lied, cheated, or done something wrong at some point in our lives.

a.      “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

2)    The penalty for sin is death, and separation from God

a.      “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

3)    Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins

a.      “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

But just knowing all of this is not enough. Christ invites you to accept his sacrifice for you. It is only after you accept his invitation that you receive eternal life.

If you’ve decided you would like eternal life with Jesus Christ, then I encourage you to pray this short prayer. The words are not as important as your heart.

Father God, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

If you truly meant those words, here are a few things that happened the moment you said them:

  • All of your sins were forgiven; God sees you as perfect
    • “He forgave us all our sins…” (Colossians 2:13)
  • You gained eternal life
    • “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
  • You entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

o        [Christ speaking] “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)

  • You became a precious child of God
    • “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
  • You began a new, exciting way of life
    • “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

If you just accepted Christ into your life for the first time, I really wish I could be there to celebrate with you! Because this is truly a moment for celebration!

“there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

Angels are partying right now in heaven for you =).

This is the last, most important part-

To believe in Christ is to trust in him with your whole heart. It means to trust that there is nothing in this world better than what he has to offer you. So with everything you have, seek to learn more about this man who offers you the only true, lasting satisfaction in life.

Here are some steps to take to grow in your relationship with Jesus:

1)     Find a church! A church is where you connect with a family of believers, and where you will receive encouragement for your new faith. Finding a good church to go to is very important! However, not all churches are perfect. I advise against going to a Catholic church. Find a church that treasures the Bible and Jesus.

2)     Read the Bible! It might seem like a daunting task at first, but the Bible is the way God has chosen to communicate with us. I recommend starting in the book of John. Buying a commentary or a study Bible will help you greatly in understanding the Bible.

3)     Pray. Prayer is how you talk with God. Prayer can be about almost anything. For example, I love saying thanks to God through prayer. I also ask God to give me strength in following him, and I pray for my friends around me who are going through hard times. God listens to everything you have to say, which is just ridiculously amazing.

One last warning-

Just because someone says they are a Christian does not mean they are one. The proof that someone is a Christian is that they obey what the Bible teaches them. Please do not let hypocrisy among Christians turn you away from God. God’s amazing promises are reserved for those who are truly his children and who obey him. Trust in those promises.

Well, I suppose this is the end. Know that I will be praying for everyone who comes to this site.

If you are reading this part and still have not accepted Christ’s invitation, I respect your decision. It’s not me that judges, but God. So I simply hope that you will think about just how important your decision is. It has eternal consequences.

God Bless!!
